On Boardwalk, lighting ideas had to make the leap from sketch to sea without compromise. With long-term partners Lürssen, VEDDER GmbH and Messner GmbH, Preciosa turned demanding lighting concepts into installations engineered into this superyacht itself.

The staircase became the project’s defining challenge: a vertical composition dense with suspended elements, yet precise in every detail. Twin cylindrical structures rise from a metal framework, turning formidable scale into a controlled, almost weightless descent through the space.

Both designs are inspired by the concept of broken ice. Bohemian crystal meets natural rock crystal throughout the composition, resembling of broken ice floes and bringing cut brilliance together with the irregular character of a material shaped by nature.

Elsewhere, the same vocabulary shifts in scale and character. Traditional crystal trimmings pay homage to classic chandeliers. Clear or frosted fused glass wrap polished stainless steel: stretched into a broad rectangular form in the Beach Club. Later, it is released into a cascading composition through the Sun Deck Stairwell.

For the Spa Entry, overlapping organic circles of hand-blown Alabaster crystal float around polished stainless steel. The elongated form uses repetition and translucency to create a calm presence, while its marble-like surface and subtle transitions between white, amber, and smoky grey highlight the handcrafted character of each piece.

In the VIP Stateroom, 154 fluted glass tubes and bubble-textured rods evoke ice and the air bubbles trapped within it. Rendered in varying shades of grey, the composition creates depth and a layered, ice-like character, while the bubble rods softly diffuse the light. The interplay of geometry and texture results in an elegant abstraction of an ice crystal.

Super yacht

Boardwalk

Boardwalk is a 117-metre custom Lürssen superyacht built on an uncommon scale. Frank Woll Design shaped the exterior around expansive glazing and generous deck spaces, while the interiors by Amy Halffman Designs balance classical proportions with contemporary living. Created for long-range cruising and hosting, Boardwalk includes 11 guest staterooms, multiple pools, a cinema, spa, gym, two helipads and a retractable deck.
