At Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, our Signature Design Raw Crystal deepens the property’s connection to nature, inviting light and atmosphere to flow seamlessly into the hotel lobby.

Guests arriving from the greenery of Mayfair step into an interior defined by rare green Ming marble. The Raw Crystal installation deepens this dialogue with nature, drawing the entrance and reception together into a single, unbroken experience.

Clear, Dust, and Darjeeling Raw Crystal components, across two sizes, combined with light, create an elevated organic experience.

Each Raw Crystal component is unrepeatable, as is its sparkle. Across over 50 square metres, the installation dazzles and delights through the day and into the night.

The realised composition of Raw Crystal unfolds in an organic rhythm—at times the Raw Crystals gather into denser formations,

elsewhere they loosen and drift apart. This movement reflects the slow, subtle shifting of rock over long periods of time.

Designers

Václav Och

Václav is inspired by nature and minimalist lines and shapes. He enjoys combining these two contrasts in his designs.

"My inspiration came from the language of natural elements—fire, air, water, and earth—already embedded in the original concept of the property. I was particularly drawn to earth, translating its raw, grounded character into light through our Signature Design, Raw Crystal."

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

The building builds on the traditional scale, rhythm, and balanced proportions of the surrounding Georgian architecture in London’s Mayfair and transforms them into a contemporary architectural language. Thanks to an innovative structural approach, it opens the interior to daylight even in places where dense urban development would typically limit it.
